Photographed over a single day in February of 2025 in California’s Joshua Tree National Park, Desert Sanctum is a fine art photographic series inspired by the early Desert Fathers - ascetics who sought God in silence and simplicity.

Created with minimal equipment and guided by natural light, the work reflects that same discipline: patient, observant, and stripped of distraction. Each composition explores how light and shadow shape the land and how beauty is revealed through stillness.

Desert Sanctum invites the viewer to see the wilderness as sacred ground and as a place where solitude and light draw the soul toward God.
